Halloween Under $10

No comments:
Pics as promised of my budget outfit under $10
What I used:-
* A white dress from my wardrobe- it was a beach cover-up I have had courtesy my love for the sand and surf *wink*
* A pair of of white leggings from my current winter wardrobe
* Foam snoflakes for $1-$2 a pack from the Dollar Store
* Mirrored snoflakes in 2 different sizez $1.5 each pack
* Glass diamond beads, just a couple again $1-2 for a whole lot of them, that I can use for some later project
* thread, needle, scissors and an hour to spare

Just stitched a few random foam snoflakes and then glued the mirror one's on top, made a makeshift set of earrings and a neck-piece *choker* that can also be worn on the wrist.

here's the pics to prove and Oh! pair them up with any shiny nice heels you got in your closet to finish the look. Add some shimmer in your makeup and you are ready to shine away.

I ended up spending only about $9 out of which I still have almost all of the stuff left and can use it in other projects. Had lots of fun and hope you did too, this Halloween. love n luck, xx.

halloween couture

No comments:
Last week's Paris Fashion Week for SS2013 saw McQueen's Sarah Burton go all in with her inspiration coming from the bees. I am in total love with the gigantic skirts, the bee hive hat and the fish net. Not to forget the colors yellow and black with bursts of red in between with all the textures and patterns reflecting the bees, honey and celebrating a woman's curves with cinched waists and accentuated hips.
Now, it might not be a very street friendly collection, it might not even sit right with a lot of fashion critics but the theme and the timing come perfectly aligned with halloween for me to ponder over some more runway looks and a few new ideas to dress up!
here's a few picks from my favorite designers so far....
We'll definitely start with McQueen and the honey bees.

Or I could be a very sexy, uber chic witch in these Saint Laurent numbers...

Or a bird cage inspired by this beauty from Chloe...

What are your plans for this Halloween?
Any new costume ideas you want to share?
Think of something new this time, something outside the box, something other than the cookie cut costumes flooding the market....have a lovely Friday people... much luv n luck... xx

what are you for halloween?

Here are a few of my favoritte looks for this year's halloween bash....
Firstly, some foil prints, black & white, animal prints, some studded bands and we are ready to pull off the 'Halloween Phantom' look. I am specially loving the foil printed skinny jeans from topshop. Also I think the Wristband from 'hottopic.com' can be a go to accessory for a lot of other halloween looks, from goth to vampire and many more of the dark side...

The second look, that I personally have loved for a while now, is that of the 'dark angel'. I love the bad, rebellious, angel look not just for the sheer joy of getting to wear the wings ( my secret crush ) but also because I then get to play with my favorite colors purple and black. You can choose a mauve or an english grey (bluish grey) instead of the purple, but keeping it in the blue-to- purple family seems to work for the look.  I like the knit dress and the ripped leggings for this perticular concept. also check out the 'Muglar platform pumps' from thecorner.com ...

Lastly, my favorite look... the 'halloween Goth' or you can also twist the same a little to get to the 'halloween slut' outfit. I am in love with my IronFist shoes and totally going to incorporate them somehow for halloween. Although, living in South Africa (where it gets as hot as 36degrees during the day, this time of the year) I am not so sure on all the leather, this look demands... this black satin corset does seem like a better option than leather!

So...what are you for halloween?
