Pre Fall 2012: DVF

Here are some more Pre fall 2012 looks from DVF. Now, everyone knows DVF started out as a young girl with a suitcase full of knit dresses, and her jersey wrap dresses became a trademark for a long time to come. But the brand has grown so much since then, and even though the dresses remain fabulous and stylish, there's a lot more to look forward to with the label. Specially like this pre fall collection for the beautiful crystals and embellishments that give the garment a polka dotted look (everyone who knows me knows I can die for POLKA DOTS).

Here's a few things that stood out:
First pic, note the colors, as winter arrives, we will all be looking bright and cheerful in these fab tones. As with the other designers, there's a lot of milky hues and pastels, but also bright sunny shades. I am also becoming a big fan of peasant tops, ruffled shirts and chiffon blouses, all of which seem to be appearing on the runways for 2012. Another recurring trend seen on the ramp (and off it) cigarette pants, straight cut trousers ( 2011 was the year of the skinny jeans, which seems to have given way to straight cut fitted pants).

Second pic holds big promises for me, being a die hard fan for bold geometric prints, this look is for me. Maybe not so much as a shirt and jacket look, but I am going to get my wardrobe at least 2-3 key pieces inspired by these pics in the coming seasons. Also can't help but fall for the sexy leather? gloves and the heels. muaaahhh! black beauty!!!

Third pic, classic DVF dresses. Note the giant abstract prints and a mix of fabrics, horizontal and vertical prints and pastel hues all give the dresses a particularly fun and soft flowy feel. Or, if you can swing it, then the sheer metallic fabric (plastic looking) dress in beige and black is a bold statement to pull off. These dresses will rock your look from day to night, when paired with herringbone jackets, fur coats and cable knit mufflers ( I can see the whole look in front of my eyes!! perfection).

Last pic, note my ever favorite, monotones, black and whites and polka dots all rolled into one. This is one look that never fails to speak to me. I can make this work for me any time, any day and occasion. Also note, the fabulous, fabulous leather? jacket with the embellishments, giving it a polka dotted look, says to me- hardcore rocker chick with a femininity. Also love the bold fish net. Note, again, bishop sleeves, or sleeves with bulk all over the runways.

2012 is going to be the year of the shoulder, sleeves, structured look with feminine elements, sunny brights, milky hues, apple and mint green, bold abstracts and giant geometric prints, and much more. Stay fabulous and in style this year. Be yourself, Be awesome!! much luv and a happy weekend to all. xx
