Weekend run around...

No comments:
So, I have not been able to post everyday on the 30 Day Snap project, I believe this is a very busy time for me to commit to something of this sort. In the spirit of clicking my daily out and abouts, I have a picture of the most recent task keeping me away from blogger!

This is the condition of my work desk these days, working hard to finish the Fall Winter 2013 collection, with just 2 more months to go, I am only going to get busier by the day. If I am not regular on blogger, bear with me as I will soon be back with the complete line sheet for my new look.

Happy weekend everyone, now if you will excuse me, I have a dog show to go to in search of new inspirations.xx

30 Day Snap #2 | Summer Rains

If you don't know about the 30 Day Snap project, read HERE

Summer rains are everywhere and can come at the most unpleasant moment, like when you are walking towards the subway all dressed for a party :-p. After a quick outburst of pouring rains, the view from my bedroom window is this crisp green scenery, the dust all washed away by the showers. Bliss.xx

Katy Perry. Zooey Deschanel.

No comments:
We love. We hate.

There are two kinds of people in this world!

One who love Katy Perry, her style, her hair and everything about her. The other who simply hate her. There are a few who compare her to Zooey Deschanel as say Katy P. is just a fake, poorly styled version of Zooey D. But whatever the case you cannot ignore her. The flamboyant hair, the flowers, the colored eye lashes and at times the comic con inspired/ inspiring get up of her's is not so normal to blend in and makes her not just another celebrity.

We do love Zooey D. to the core, but when it comes to Katy P. we absolutely adore her and if you are anything like us, you do know that Manic-Panic is not just a sort of panic attack and you live and breathe colors. This summer we are celebrating all things Katy P. And since flowers, colors and bold prints are our favourite, we thought what better way to get inspired than a little Katy Perry style set...

BA Star GLITTER Make-up

No comments:
Today's post is all about glitter, dance and cheer!
I talked about the BA Star products a while back and finally got to try the glitter and glue in holo silver.

First thing that I noticed and loved about it is that the glue is not at all sticky, like some other brands that I have tried before, it is transparent and comfortable on the skin, so the application on the eyelids is pretty neat. The second best thing about BA Star glitters is that they feel soft and just like any eye shadow that you would apply. I have previously had other brands which would feel almost sandy or grainy on my skin and would at times itch. This was a very pleasant surprise.

As you can see in the above picture, they come in various different colors. The application was easy, the glue had a neat doe foot applicator and the glitter sticks to it with almost zero fallout, making it last long for cheer leading, dancing and even stage performances.

Another way to use the glitter that I want to share is to mix it with your moisturiser. Take a bit of moisturiser on your palm and throw some glitter over it, mix it well and apply all over your body. It stays and because the glitter is soft it does not feel uncomfortable at all.

The retail price for both the products is $8.75 each, which is perfect considering you only need a little dash of this cute pixie dust :) to bedazzle your make-up.

You can get these on BASTAR.COM
And for StyleScribbles readers there is a  50% OFF your Order, use the coupon code BBGLITZ

Visit http://www.bastar.com/ for more bling, make up kits and other cool stuff!
Until then, B-A-star, BE Awesome. xx

DIY: Padded Clothes Hanger

No comments:
I did this little DIY day before because I was in need of a bit fancy/ padded hanger to shoot a few garment pics on. The hanger came out a bit droopy at the shoulders, but is fine for strappy dresses I guess. I wasn't fully happy with the outcome, as I needed it for photographs, but if you are looking for cute additions for your wardrobe or just want to make those wire hangers prettier, this is the DIY you might want to try.

Also the fact that I didn't need to buy or source anything from outside makes it worth the while. I spent around 15-20 mins and it was done. The hanger I used was a wire hanger I got with my drycleaning, the cotton pads are the 'Dove' make up remover pads, the wlite tissue is a roll from the dollar store that I had some left from around Christmas, also I wrapped it in a rough piece of cotton cloth to add some bulk . Other than these, you just need scissors, scotch tape and maybe transparent glue.
Below is a step by step picture description of what I did and how...

I started by taping 2 cotton swabs together on the sides of the hanger, after I bent the hanger to get the desired curved look, as available in the market...

A detailed photo of the first two swabs taped over the hanger

finished with 2X3=6 swabs taped to a side

added 2 cotton swabs from the bottom to the far corners and then placed 2 extra on top to give extra padding at the ends of the hanger...

Also taped 2 cotton pads to the top most part, here's the tissue I used to wrap around

Covered the hanger with a rag, left over piece of cotton, if you like it, you can use a long strip of printed cotton fabric as the final wrapping too...
